In every teen movie there is always a

“jock” that is the bully of the school and a “nerd” that is the victim of the “jock’s” rath. David Denby relates school shootings with high school movies to stop school shootings all together. It might seem that someone bullying someone else is bad but at the end of most of the teen movies the one being bullied ends up on top because of the drive the bully gave them from doubt. Denby was trying to emphasise, that being a “nerd” is a good thing because at the end of the day the nerds are the ones that are more successful in the end.

“The normal high school movie goes a little like this; there is a big blonde football player that is dating the best looking blonde girl that everyone wants to be, while that football player beats up the little nerdy kid that everyone picks on. But then there is a major turning point where the nerd ends up getting the girl and all of the nerds worries are gone,” is how Denby described it in the beginning of his article. His statement holds true according to the movies I have seen. This gives me proof that Denby uses Ethos in his article making it a trustworthy and credible piece of text.

The painting The Innocent Eye Test (1981) is of a cow looking onto a picture of another cow, which is all inside of an art gallery. The artist that created this portrait is Mark Tansey, who claims to not being a realist painter. Although his portraits are of things that would be considered realist, they are actually nonexistent. This portrait is of a real painting of the cow Young Bell, but there is no cow inside of the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art looking at the painting. That is how Mark considers himself as a non realist painter although his painting do have realism in them, they are still fictional portraits.

The audience that Mark Tansey is trying to grab is the post-modern genre. He is grabbing the post-modern genre because he is contradicting the realist painters. He does this by making the painting have real aspects in the portrait, but the real aspects would never actually be together in real life. For instance a cow wouldn’t be in an art gallery.

This portrait relates with Pathos because it has humor in the painting, therefore satisfying your emotions of humor. The painting also contradicts the uses of Ethos because it goes against the realism type of painting.

Performance Task

Our society does not have the reason to believe that they can accomplish their dreams; people need to believe that they can do whatever they set their minds to, by being motivated in all places of their lives like Twitter, Television, and even through other people. People not believing in themselves isn’t beneficial for society because they don’t have the willingness to succeed in their life goals. If everyone in the world decided to stop trying to accomplish their dreams then the world would eventually start to crumble; but in vice versa, if everyone in the world decided to push to completing their goals then the world would thrive.

The goal of this innovation is to start the global jump to accomplishments. If this innovation is the reason or fuel of a global phenomenon then there will be no bigger notoriety than being known by everyone across the world. Starting a global phenomenon is very difficult and will take some funding to accomplish. The founding to start this revolution would be used to build up notoriety for the campaign, which would be best through advertising; “There are 115 million active users on Twitter every month and 40% of the 646 million users just read the tweets,” stated by statisticbrain “and 135,000 people sign up per day.” Advertising on Twitter is the best way to reach out to the group of people we want to get involved with the campaign; reaching out to 646 Million people is insane, even if we can only advertise to a fraction of those numbers.

To advertise on Twitter would cost anywhere between “$2.50 to $4.00 per follower” (Socialmediatoday.com). The more Followers on Twitter that this campaign can get the more notoriety it can get. Twitter is where the majority of the founding will be utilized, to grow the campaign. The remainder of the funding will go to making of shirts and wristbands that will be sold, to make more profit so that we can continue raising notoriety. The campaign needs $10,000 to start off strong and to secure long term success, for the campaign and for the world.

If people are accomplishing their dreams, big or small, this world would be a much better place. That is why we need the people to have more motivation to become the best or better at what they believe. For example, Michael Jordan was viewed to be so bad at basketball in high school that he actually got cut from the high school team. Michael Jordan went on to become the best basketball player that has ever walked the Earth. But not everyone will have the drive that Michael Jordan had to accomplish his dream, and that is what this campaign is for. This campaign is meant to give people a push to believe in their dreams so that there can be more Michael Jordans in the world.
